  LEONARDO GOI
BIO

I am an Italian-born, UK-raised journalist and researcher. I write about film as well as current affairs.

As a film critic, I regularly contribute to MUBI, The Film Stage, Senses of Cinema and Kinoscope, where I serve as deputy editor. In 2017, I was selected to attend the Locarno Critics Academy, in April 2018 I became a member of the Italian Federation of Film Critics (SNCCI), and in 2019 I was accepted into the Berlinale Talents - for which I now coordinate the Talent Press. As a member of the International Federation of Film Critics (FIPRESCI), I serve as juror in film festivals around and beyond the old continent.

Aside from film, I write on politics and culture, with a focus on organised crime and conflict dynamics across Latin America - specifically, Colombia, where I worked with several NGOs and research centres on the peace treaty with the FARC guerrillas.

This is a selection of some of the articles I've written and things I've said through the years. Want to reach out? Head here.
